The Hunter Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) successfully held Relay to National Student Athlete Day this weekend. On Friday night a group of student athletes from Hunter went down to Baruch and participated in Relay for Life. After participating in the all night event that raised money to fight cancer, the group of student s came back to Hunter for some much needed rest and breakfast.

New York, NY – The Hunter College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee presented its annual “Battle of the Sexes” which pits Hawk men’s teams against the women’s teams in various recreational activities with the coveted “Battle of the Sexes” Trophy on the line.

The Student Athlete Advisory Committee exists to develop a sense of school pride among students throughout Hunter College, beginning with student-athletes, and expanding to the rest of the student population. We hope to accomplish our purpose through social events, friendly competition, volunteer work, and community activities.

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee [SAAC] is introducing a monthly award for the SAAC member who dedicates his/her energies to helping the Committee and Hunter Athletics. The first SAAC MVP award goes to Angela Haskell from the women's swimming and diving team.

On Wednesday, November 26th at 1pm student-athletes from each of the four academic classes faced off in a series of athletic (and edible) competitions! Purple, Gold, Black, and White teams competed in a total of five games, ending in a Junior class win!

Student-Athlete Advisory Committee | 12.03.2008
New York, NY – For the month of November, the Hunter College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee held a friendly competition in the form of a canned food drive in which each athletic team had from the first of November to the 26th to bring in items that would be submitted to the City Harvest Group. The teams brought in over 200 items in total, but the women’s basketball team had the most with 88 items donated. Second place went to the women’s fencing team who gave 76 items, followed by the women’s swimming team with 44 items donated.
