New York, NY – Senior center Juanita Whyms (Far Rockaway, NY/Stella Maris) led all scorers with 17 points and had a game high 23 rebounds for her 17th double-double of the season, but it would become her final performance in a Hawk uniform as the sixth-seeded New York University Violets used a second half surge to outlast Hunter 70-51 in the quarterfinal round of the Eastern College Athletic Conference [ECAC] Championship Tournament held at the Hunter Sportsplex on Wednesday night.

New York, NY – The Hunter women’s basketball team earned the #3 seed in the eight-team 2009-10 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Metropolitan Tournament after finishing the season with a 17-11 overall record and now will host the #6 New York University (13-12) on Wednesday, March 3 at 6:00 p.m. at the Hunter Sportsplex.
