New York, NY – The Hunter men’s fencing team had a strong showing at foil and epee, but it would be enough as the Black Knights of Army earn a 17-10 victory Friday night in the B-4 Gymnasium of the Hunter Sportsplex.

Madison, NJ – The Hunter men’s fencing team picked up 14-13 victory over St. John’s University while competing in the first Middle Atlantic Collegiate Fencing Association [MACFA] event of the season, hosted by Drew University in Madison, NJ. The Hawks finished the day with a 1-5 record.

Philadelphia, PA – Junior Jose Samora, Jr. (New York, NY/Frederick Douglas Academy) started off his 2009-10 season with a seventh place finish out of 101 competitors in foil, his highest career finish at the 30th Annual Temple Fencing Open held at McGonigle Hall on the campus of Temple University.

Women's Fencing, Men's Fencing | 03.08.2009
Cambridge, MA – The men’s and women’s fencing seasons came to end on Sunday with sophomore foil Jose Samora, Jr. (New York, NY/Frederick Douglas Academy) and junior epee Centhia Obi (Bronx, NY/Manhattan Center) were the only two Hawks to advance past the first round before missing the cut to advance further at the NCAA Regional Tournament hosted by Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MA.

Baltimore, MD – Sophomore Jose Samora, Jr. (New York, NY/Frederick Douglas Academy) helped the Hawk foil team to a 28 win day by scoring 17 wins of his own with just one loss as the men’s fencing team finished 2-4 as a whole at a MACFA event hosted by John Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.
