Men's Outdoor Track | 05.27.2009
New York, NY – Freshman Max Zamor (Brooklyn, NY/Midwood) has been named the CUNY Athletic Conference Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Rookie of the Year after earning Most Valuable Performer honors at this year’s CUNYAC Championship meet where he earned 36 points for the Hawks, the most of all male participants.

New York, NY – After two days of competition, the 2009 CUNY Athletic Conference outdoor track & field championship came to a close and the Hawks were in a close battle once again with Lehman College, coming out just eight points behind the Lightning to finish in second place overall. Despite the second place finish, freshman Max Zamor (Brooklyn, NY/Midwood) was honored as the meet’s Most Valuable Performer after earning 37 individuals points, the most of all men who competed at the Championship held at Icahn Stadium on Randall’s Island.

Men's Outdoor Track, Women's Outdoor Track | 05.12.2009
New York, NY – Changing things up from previous years, the 2009 CUNY Athletic Conference men’s and women’s outdoor track & field championship meet has been broken up into two days, with the first ten events taking place on Sunday and the remaining on Tuesday night. After Sunday’s competition, the defending outdoor champion Hawk men’s team sits in second place, not far behind the leader and indoor season champion Lehman College. These two teams will battle it out tonight for the 2009 championship starting at 6:00 p.m. at Icahn Stadium on Randalls Island.

Jersey City, NJ – Sophomore Luis Cabrera (New York, NY/Leadership) set two personal bests on Saturday, finishing the 5000 meter run in 16:48.61 for fourth place and cross the line in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:37.17 to close out a successful day for the Hawks at the Saint Peter’s College/New Jersey Institute of Technology Invitational held at Lincoln Park in Jersey City, NJ.

06.02 | Men's Outdoor Track
New York, NY – Freshman runner James McArdle (Williston Park, NY/Herricks) was named the CUNY Athletic Conference men’s outdoor track & field Rookie of the Year after an outstanding first-year with the Hawks that included two gold and one silver medal at the conference championship meet last month. In addition, hall of fame head coach Ed Zarowin was named Coach of the Year by his peers and two other members of the men’s team were named all-stars.

New York, NY – For the first time in the 13-year history of the CUNYAC men’s outdoor track & field championship, the winner was decided by just one point and for the Hawks the chance at winning their first title since 2004 relied solely on the men’s discuss and junior Israel Burns (Brooklyn, NY/South Shore) who’s toss of 33.89 was enough for first place and edged out Lehman’s top toss of 33.72 as Hunter earns the program’s sixth CUNYAC Championship during the daylong event at Icahn Stadium on Randalls Island.
