Ewing, NJ – Freshmen Hector Avalos (Staten Island, NY/Johannes Gutenberg) and Patricio Harris (Brooklyn, NY/Clara Barton) continued their strong efforts this season, competing in multiple field events, as the Hawks took part in the TCNJ Invitational this past Sunday held in Ewing, NJ.

Avalos competed in three field events, throwing 8.60m in the shot put, 29.68m in the discus, and 29.00m in the javelin. Harris threw for 9.65m in the shot put and 32.30m in the javelin.

Freshmen Jacob Jensen (Yonkers, NY/Sanders) and Andrew Medina (Bronx, NY/South Bronx) turned in nice performances as well. Jensen ran the 800m and the 1500m, while Medina finished the 800m with a time of 2:16.23.

On the women’s side, freshman Amauche Obi-Eyisi (Anambra, Nigeria/Dority International) competed in two field events, throwing 17.02m in the discus and 12.82m in the javelin.

The Hawks men’s and women’s outdoor track and field team will next compete on Saturday, May 3 at the Kings Point Invitational hosted by the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY.
