Baltimore, MD – Sophomore Jose Samora, Jr. (New York, NY/Frederick Douglas Academy) helped the Hawk foil team to a 28 win day by scoring 17 wins of his own with just one loss as the men’s fencing team finished 2-4 as a whole at a MACFA event hosted by John Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.

At the team’s second Middle Atlantic Collegiate Fencing Association [MACFA] event of the season, the Hawks earned victories against Virginia Tech (16-11) and the University of Virginia (15-12).

Senior Joshua Lopez (Bronx, NY/Transit Tech) finished the day with an 11-5 record, helping the Hawks epee team to 21 victories, while the sabre earned ten wins at the event.

The Hawks will be back in action on Sunday, February 8 when they head to Newark, NJ for the third and final MACFA event of the season, hosted by the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
