Philadelphia, PA – Junior Jose Samora, Jr. (New York, NY/Frederick Douglas Academy) started off his 2009-10 season with a seventh place finish out of 101 competitors in foil, his highest career finish at the 30th Annual Temple Fencing Open held at McGonigle Hall on the campus of Temple University.

Junior Marcus Ng (Flushing, NY/Townsend Harris) also competed in foil, placing 35th overall, followed by senior Darin Boodram (Richmond Hill, NY/Thomas Edison) who placed 69th overall. Competing in epee, junior Michael Quackenbush (Selden, NY/Centereach) finished 52nd and sophomore Nial Welch (Brooklyn, NY/St. Rose) wasn’t far behind in 59th place out of 96 competitors.

The men’s fencing team will now look towards the Vassar Invitational which is schedule to take place on Sunday, November 15 in Poughkeepsie, NY.
