2010 Best Value Hunter Is CUNY NCAA ECAC CUNYAC Logo Positive Coaching Alliance

New York, NY – Junior Noel Marrero (Bronx, NY/Lehman) heads a list of four Hunter men’s tennis players who have earned CUNY Athletic Conference All-Star honors after going 11-4 in singles matches this season, 7-1 in conference play. Joining him on the first-team is freshman Alex Stanciu (New York, NY/Locust Valley) who went 10-1 on the year, 6-0 against conference opponents in his first season with the team.

Also earning all-star honors were sophomore Roy Forberg (Brooklyn, NY/AOSR) and Jayquan Gooding (Woodside, NY/Cardozo), with Forberg being named a second-team all-star and Gooding receiving honorable mention. Forberg finished his season with a 7-3 overall record, going 4-1 in conference, primarily playing third singles. Gooding earned a record of 6-2, 4-1 in conference matches while playing in the two slot for the Hawks.

These individuals join freshman Max Segan who was named Rookie of the Year and head coach Eric Metzger who was named Coach of the Year as the Hawks close the books on one of the most success men’s tennis seasons in six years.
