New York, NY – Hunter College will once again play host to one of the premiere basketball summer leagues on the east coast, the Nike Pro City League. A sanctioned NCAA summer league, basketball players from all walks of life including current and former NBA players, college standouts, “local playground legends” and the occasional hip hop star, convene at the Hunter Sportsplex to compete in the league that runs from June through August.
The Nike Pro City League brings the pro game and pro players, led by hometown product Ron Artest of the Houston Rockets and featuring talented individuals from other NBA Franchises and future stars from the college ranks, without the ticket prices as admission is free. During nine weeks in the summer months, fans pack into the Hunter Sportsplex to watch some of the best basketball action available in New York City.
Be sure to check out the Nike Pro City League every Tuesday and Thursday, starting on Thursday June 18 and running through Tuesday, August 11 with games being played at 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. The championship game will then be played on Thursday, August 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the Hunter Sportsplex located at the intersection of 68th Street and Lexington Avenue.
