Hunter Athletics Leads CUNYAC Institutions Nationally

New York, NY – The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) has announced the final 2008-09 standings for the Learfield Sports Director's Cup in NCAA Division III, and Hunter College has finished ahead of all CUNY Athletic Conference Institutions ranked 168th from more than 400 Division III athletic programs in the nation.

The Learfield Sports Director's Cup ranks all Division III athletic programs by points that are earned through participation and success in any NCAA Division III championship.

The Hawks, who proved to be the top CUNYAC program by winning the program's ninth CUNYAC Commissioner's Cup this year, was the only conference school to record points in each of the three sports seasons, recording 50 points in the fall, 26 in the winter, and 25 in the spring for a total of 101.00 points.

Winning the 2009 Learfield Sports Director's Cup in NCAA Division III was Williams (Mass.) College, who earned its eleventh consecutive title with 1066.50 points. Rounding out the top five are Middlebury (Vt.) College with 923, Amherst (Mass.) College with 910, Washington (Mo.) University with 873, Cortland (N.Y.) State with 861.
