Newburgh, NY – Senior
Heather Alvord (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook) had two first place finished and one second place, but her efforts in the pool wouldn’t be enough as the Hawks drop their fourth straight, falling to Mount Saint Mary College 107-91 on Wednesday night in Newburgh, NY.
In her first event of the night,
Alvord finished just under ten seconds ahead of the competition in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:23.85. She then finished the 100-yard backstroke in 1:05.85, with the second place swimmer of Mount Saint Mary finishing 1:11.85. In her third event,
Alvord finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:19.06.
Sophomore
Marian Wu (Flushing, NY/Stuyvesant) also had a good meet for the Hawks finishing first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:02.95, second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:20.74 and set the pace as the first swimmer in the 200-yard freestyle relay in which the Hawks placed first with a time of 1:57.82.
Hunter returns to the pool on Monday, January 18 when they head to Patchogue, NY for a non-conference meet with Saint Joseph’s College at 2:00 p.m.
