Hoboken, NJ – Competing for the second time in less than a week, Hunter and Newbury College battled to another five set match, but this time it would be the Nighthawks who pick up the 3-2 (21-30, 30-22, 30-19, 28-30, 15-13) victory despite a 22 kills performance from junior outside hitter Christopher Newcomb (Waimea, Kauai, HI/Waimea) in Hunter's first match at the Stevens Invitational on Saturday evening at Canvan Arena in Hoboken, NJ.

Sophomore outside hitter Eric Barty (Jamaica, NY/Cardozo) added 20 kills for the Hawks, while sophomore setter Brendan Feng (Jackson Heights, NY/Hunter) had 35 assist and freshman middle block John Gemegah (Jackson Heights, NY/Aviation) tied a team high of three solo blocks.

The Hawks will now face #4 Stevens at 7:00 p.m.
