Ithaca, NY – Sophomore 141 pounder
Sean Messina (West Islip, NY/West Islip) continued his impressive second season with the Hawks by finishing fifth overall, the team’s top performer, with a 5-2 record at the 2009-10 New York State Collegiate Championship hosted by Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.
Messina advanced to the quarterfinals of the championship bracket, pinning Brian Latham of Morrisville in 2:29 and then defeated Mike Gregg of Oneonta 13-0. He would then earn fifth place with a medical forfeit win over Arcara.
