Hoboken, NJ – Junior guard Shamar Stewartson (Springfield Gardens, NY/Far Rockaway) tied a game high of 25 points, but it wasn’t enough to give the shorthanded Hawks a win in their regular season finale as they fall 79-73 to Stevens Institute of Technology Tuesday night at the Canavan Arena in Hoboken, NJ.

Senior center Juanita Whyms (Far Rockaway, NY/Stella Maris) recorded her 13th double-double of the season with 21 points and 14 rebounds, while freshman guard Johanna Keilwitz (Wolmirstedt, Germany/Sportgymnasium Halle) added 11 points. Senior guard Deseree Boler (Bronx, NY/Patapsco) score nine points, had six rebounds and three steals before fouling out late in the second half.

The Hawks will now focus their attention towards the CUNY Athletic Conference Championship Tournament which opens up on Sunday, with the second-seeded Hunter hosting seventh-seeded CCNY for a 3:00 p.m. Quarterfinal game at the Hunter Sportsplex.
