Brooklyn, NY – Junior guard Megan McKenna (Rockaway, NY/Midwood) scored 20 points in the first half on her way to a 28 point, 11 rebound, and seven assists performance to lead the Hawks to a 68-51 victory over N.Y. City Tech on Wednesday night at Klitgord Gymnasium in Brooklyn, NY.

The Hawks actually trailed early on, but after sharing leads, McKenna gave her team a 17-15 lead with a little under 11 minutes left to play and the Hawks never looked back from there as they led for the remainder of the game.

Senior center Juanita Whyms (Far Rockaway, NY/Stella Maris) contributed to tonight’s victory with her ninth double-double of the season, scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds. She was followed by senior guard Shamar Stewartson (Springfield Gardens, NY/Far Rockaway) who added ten points and four steals.

For City Tech, Christine Jackson scored a team high 19 points, shooting 9-of-10 from the free throw line, while Tempest Casey scored 12 points.

Hunter (12-9, 7-3 CUNYAC) will be back in action on Friday, when they host Lehman College () for their final meeting of the regular season with tip-off slated for 5:00 p.m.
