New York, NY – In their final match of the night, the Hunter Hawks won all six matches they competed in, while earning four forfeit victories to complete a 47-0 shutout over a shorthanded Yeshiva University Wednesday night at the Hunter Sportsplex.
Senior
Vitaly Simkin earned his ninth win of the season with a 10-6 decision over Ron Simchi at 157 pounds. Then freshman
Jesse Capello-Colon picked up a 19-4 technical fall over Daniel Firdrya at 174 pounds. Competing at 184 pounds, sophomore
Ryan Baxter grabbed his second win of the season with an 8-3 decision over Greg Kupsin.
Sophomore
Anthony Daly worked towards a 17-7 major decision, while sophomore
Oliver Lopez got a 6-3 decision on Isaac Kuyunov. The final bout of the night was an 18-2 technical fall in favor of freshman
Chris Gogatz. The Hawks earned forfeit victories at 125, 133, 149, 165 and heavyweight.
Hunter (5-11) is now scheduled to host Elizabethtown and York (PA) on Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. tri-match.
