Stevenson, MD – Junior outside hitter Christopher Newcomb (Waimea, Kauai, HI/Waimea) finished with a match high 21 kills to go along with ten digs and three total blocks in a four set, (30-26, 30-28, 28-30, 30-27) win over Stevenson University on Friday night in Stevenson, Maryland.

Sophomore outside hitter Eric Barty (Jamaica, NY/Cardozo) also had a big match for the Hawks, hitting 19 kills, along with two-time CUNYAC Rookie of the Week Braien Otsla (Brooklyn, NY/New Utrecht) who totaled 14 kills and seven digs, and freshman middle blocker John Gemegah (Jackson Heights, NY/Aviation) rounded this out with 11 kills. Senior setter Zacarias Ripoll-Cid (Puerto Plata, D.R./John F. Kennedy) was just two assists shy of matching his career high, tallying 67.

Hunter (18-8, 11-2 CUNYAC) will be back in action on Saturday morning, when they are scheduled to face Medaille at 10:00 a.m., followed by a match with Pfeiffer University at Noon.
