Providence, RI – Junior Jose Samora, Jr. (New York, NY/Frederick Douglas Academy) entered this weekend ranked 18th and would end up advancing to the third round to finish 15th out of 35 competitors in foil at the 2009-10 NCAA Northeast Regional Championship hosted by Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.

In epee, junior Michael Quackenbush (Selden, NY/Centereach) advanced to the third round and would finish 20th overall after entering the tournament ranked 32 out of 40 fencers. Sophomore Nial Welch (Brooklyn, NY/St. Rose) made his Regionals debut, finishing 36th overall with a 2-2 record.
