New York, NY – Last month, freshman guard Eric Klingsberg (Queens, NY/Holy Cross) was named the CUNY Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year after an impressive first season with the Hawks, now he’s been recognized by two other organizations, being named the Eastern College Athletic Conference [ECAC] Metro Rookie of the Year and D3Hoops.com Atlantic Rookie of the Year.

A four-time CUNYAC Rookie of the Week, Klingsberg quickly emerged onto the scene following a 39 point performance in his seventh collegiate game. In 27 games this season, he averaged 15.9 points per game, 11th best in the conference. He was also solid from the free throw line, shooting 79 percent, eighth best in the conference.
