Providence, RI – Freshman middle blocker Braien Otsla (Brooklyn, NY/New Utrecht) finished with a match high 12 kills and sophomore middle blocker Roman Siromakha (Brooklyn, NY, New Utrecht) had 11 kills to lead the Hawks to a non-conference victory over Johnson & Wales University on Saturday afternoon in Providence, Rhode Island.

Senior setter Zacarias Ripoll-Cid (Puerto Plata, D.R./John F. Kennedy) was just two kills shy of a triple-double, closing out the match with 24 assists, 14 digs and eight kills along with six aces. Freshman middle blocker John Gemegah (Jackson Heights, NY/Aviation) had a big match at the net, recording a career high eight total blocks, six assisted.

The victory improves the Hawks to 21-9 on the year, while Johnson & Wales falls to 8-17.
