Hawks Edge Out New Haven on the Road

New York, NY – Sophomore outside hitter Eric Barty (Jamaica, NY/Cardozo) had a match high 12 kills as the Hawks earned a 3-0 (31-29, 30-23, 31-29) victory over the University of New Haven on Thursday night in a non-conference men's volleyball match in New Haven, Connecticut.

Junior outside hitter Christopher Newcomb (Waimea, Kauai, HI/Waimea) helped the Hawks out with ten kills and a team high nine digs, while freshman middle blocker Braien Otsla (Brooklyn, NY/New Utrecht) finished with eight kills, eight digs and three total blocks. Senior setter Zacarias Ripoll-Cid (Puerto Plata, D.R./John F. Kennedy) tallied a match high 37 assists and had five total blocks.

Hunter (15-7, 10-1 CUNYAC) will be back in action on Saturday, when they face Brooklyn College (2-10, 2-7 CUNYAC) for the second and final time this season at 9:00 a.m. at Nat Holman Gymnasium on the campus of CCNY.
