New York, NY – The Hunter women’s fencing sabre team finished fourth overall at the 81st Annual National Intercollegiate Women’s Fencing Association [NIWFA] Championship held on Saturday, March 6 at Army in West Point, NY.

Individually, senior Nicole Schirmer (Selden, NY/Newfield) finished fourth overall in sabre, while the EWFC Sabre Fencer of the Year, Stella Shifrin (Brooklyn, NY/Edward R. Murrow) placed sixth overall.

The team will now prepare for the NCAA Regionals which will be hosted by Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island on March 14.
