Lawrenceville N.J. – The women's track and field team finished in eighth place out of nine teams on Saturday at the Rider Invitational. The Hawks competed against schools from Division 1 and Division 2. All eight points were scored from the 4X100 meter relay team that finished second with a time of 58.93 seconds.
Individually sophomore Nancy Olisma (Brooklyn, NY/St. Saviour) continued her impressive season with a tenth place finish in the javelin with a throw of 21.40 meters, a eighth place finish in the 400 meter run with a time of 1:03.83, and a seventh place finish in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:11.34. Sophomore Mehida Alexandre (Brooklyn, NY/Sheepshead Bay) finished in tenth place in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:19.23 and seventh in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 18.76 seconds.
Freshman Jacklyn Henderson (Oyster Bay, NY/Oyster Bay) finished 19th out of 30 runners in the 1500 meter run with a time of 5:34.74. Freshman Lizzy Mahoney (Auburn, NY/Auburn) finished right behind her in 21st place with a time of 5:38.21 while freshman Jennifer Arozamena (Hoboken, NJ/Woodbridge) finished right behind her in 22nd place with a time of 5:38.45. Freshman Johanna Keilwitz (Wolmirstedt, Germany/Sportgymnasium Halle) finished in 27th place with a time of 5:51.65.
The Hawks will next be in action on Sunday when they will compete in the New York Relays at Icahn Stadium on Randall's Island.
