New York, NY – Junior guard Rocco Rubino (Brooklyn, NY/Archbishop Molloy) has been impressive in his first season with the Hawks, earning several post season awards and now has another one to add to the list as he was named to the 2009-10 All-Met Division III Second-Team by the National Invitation Tournament and the Met Basketball Writer's Association.

At a dinner held on Wednesday, April 21, Rubino was one of 13 Division III men's basketball players that were honored by making either the first or second All-Met team. He is joined by fellow CUNY Athletic Conference standouts Marcel Esonwune of York, Richard Jean-Baptiste of Brooklyn and Lionel Hillaire and George Kunkel of Baruch.

Rubino had a breakout year for the Hawks, leading the team to several victories while averaging a team high 18.6 points per game, the fifth highest in the CUNY Athletic Conference. He led the CUNYAC in free throw percentage, shooting 84.5 percent, and also closed out the year ranked third in the conference in assists with an average of 3.7, fourth in assist/turnover ratio, seventh in three point field goals made, 11th in three-point field goal percentage and 20th in rebounding. For his efforts during the season, he was voted a CUNYAC First-Team All-Star.

Now in its 77th year, the Met Basketball Writers Association awards a player of the year, coach of the year as well as three All-Divisional teams to student-athletes from all three NCAA Divisions.
