Olisma Leads Hawks As Women Outdoor Track And Field Compete At Dick Shea Open

West Point, NY- Sophomore Nancy Olisma (Brooklyn, NY/St. Saviour) continued her impressive outdoor season on Saturday as the Hawks track and field team competed at the Dick Shea Open at Shea Stadium on the campus of United States Military Academy at West Point. Olisma finished in third place in the 400 meter run with a time of 1:02.55. She also was able to finish seventh in the shot put with a distance of 9.38 meters, ninth in the hammer throw with a distance of 23.79 meters, sixth in the javelin with a throw of 17.96 meters, and fifth in the discus with a throw of 18.40 meters.

In the 400 meter hurdles, sophomore Mehida Alexandre (Brooklyn, NY/Sheepshead Bay) finished in fifth place with a time of 1:11.36. Running in the 1500 meter run the Hawks were led by freshman Jacklyn Henderson (Oyster Bay, NY/Oyster Bay) who finished in 17th place with a time of 5:35.29. She was followed shortly by fellow freshman Natoya Bromfield (Brooklyn, NY/LaGuardia) who finished 22nd with a time of 5:45.97. Bromfield also ran the 200 meter dash finishing in 13th place with a time of 33.98 seconds. Running in the 5000 meter run the Hawks were led by freshman Johanna Keilwitz (Wolmirstedt, Germany/Sportgymnasium Halle) who finished in 11th place with a time of 22:45.21. Freshman Aime Salazar (East Elmhurst, NY/Bronx School of Science) finished in 8th place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 16.74.

The Hawks will next be in action on Saturday when they will travel down to Lawrenceville, NJ to compete in the Rider Invitational on the campus of Rider University.
