Dave D’Amico was a leading member of a Hunter College men’s tennis dynasty that won back to-back CUNYAC Championships. In two seasons, D’Amico compiled 59, the fifth best record at the time. His career winning percentage was .787 (59-16), which stood third all-time upon graduation. His 30 wins as a senior and 29 wins as a junior set school records and still rank in the top five today. Doubling as a point guard for the men’s basketball team, he was third on the team in assists (35) as a junior and second (94) as a senior. The 1985-86 squad earned Hunter’s first ever bid to the ECAC Tournament and advanced to the semifinals.
