Hunter College Athletics

A four-year track and field and cross country team member, Dammann was captain on both teams for three years. He was the top man on the cross country team for three years, and finished in the top ten for three consecutive years at the Collegiate Track Conference Cross Country Championship. He was the top miler and two miler for the three years of varsity competition. He later became the track and field coach at Newton High School in Queens where he served for more than 20 years.
