Stacey Moriates learned fencing at Hunter College and grew into an outstanding competitor. She captained the first ever NIWFA Championship team from Hunter College in 1970. She participated on the varsity squad for three years 1968-70. In 1970, she became a member of the U.S. national team for “Under 20-year olds” that competed in the world championships. From 1972-84, she represented the U.S. in numerous International championships.
