New York, N.Y. - Hunter College's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee spent Sunday volunteering at the New York City Marathon, helping out at the hydration stations.
The SAACÂ volunteers spent the day handing out water and Gatorade to the runners and sweeping up cups. The Hunter athletes were stationed at Mile 16 and encouraged the runners before they would take on their last 10.2 miles.
"Volunteering at the marathon was very humbling," said SAAC President Grace Huezo. "It was great to be a part of the experience and help the runners accomplish a goal that they've worked so hard to acheive."Â
This was Hunter's third time partnering with the NYC Marathon.
