New York, N.Y. - Hunter College's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee kicked off the school year by continuing their longtime partnership with the Ronald McDonald House last weekend.
A small group of student-athletes gathered at the Ronald McDonald House of the Upper East Side to assist the employees in cleaning and organizing the facility, making it safe for the families living there.
Eleven students from five different Hunter teams were in attendance for the first community service project of the year, led by the efforts of the 2018-19 SAAC president, Haley Trunkett (Women's Volleyball).
"Volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House is always an experience that puts the world into perspective," said wrestler Serjey Thomas. "Seeing the weight of what some of these families go through, while still enjoying life is a reminder to be grateful for what we have."
