Hunter SAAC hosts booth for Ronald McDonald Block Party

Hunter College Student Athlete Advisory Committee spent Saturday September 21st hosting a booth at the Ronald McDonald House block party located at E 73rd and 1st Avenue from 10am-5pm.

Several student-athletes attended the event including Erin Schweers (Softball), Cyrus De Guzman (Men's Volleyball), Obinna Onaga (Men's Track and Field), Christopher Spurrell (Men's Track and Field), Gianna Raimondi (Softball), Marissa (Men's Track and Field), Rebecca McCain (Women's Track and Field), Kyle Harris (Men's Track and Field), Isaac Mari-Jata (Men's Track and Field) and Leon Taryan (Wrestling).

The event was held to provide a day of fun and excitement for the children currently staying at the Ronald McDonald House. The Hawks hosted a bracelet making booth, where children had the opportunity to create their own bracelets with over 1,000 different beads to choose from.

Hunter SAAC has had a great relationship with Ronald McDonald and plans to continue to work with them. Sophomore Marriam Outtara, the chair of Community Service, noted the importance of giving back.

"Taking part in this event allowed SAAC to get involved with the community in ways that brought joy to the children and their families. Hosting a booth at the block party gave them the opportunity to express their creativity and talent through the work of bracelet making."
