Riverdale, NY – With the CUNYAC Indoor Track and Field Championships only two weeks away and ECACs not far behind, members of the Hunter College track and field team tuned up at the Jasper Last Chance meet held at Draddy Gymnasium on the campus of Manhattan College in Riverdale, NY.
The meet gave the Hawks a chance to get some late season experience in competing against some tough competition from all three NCAA Divisions. Freshman
James McArdle (Williston Park, NY/Herricks) and senior
Oscar Bolivar (Queens, NY/Archbishop Molloy) ran the 55m hurdles and finished in 10.6 and 11.8 respectively. Freshman
Benjamin Chateauvert (Larchmont, NY/Mamaroneck) finished with the fourth best time in the 800m run, 2:13.6.
Competing for the women's team, senior
Natalia Bonilla (New York, NY/Murry Bergtraum) had a time of 1:17.8 in the 400 meter and a third best 7.8 in the 55 meter dash.
In field events, junior
Israel Burns (Brooklyn, NY/South Shore) had a team best in the weight throw with a toss of 13.35m, he was followed by freshman
Hector Avalos (Staten Island, NY/Johannes Gutenberg) who threw 9.26 meters and then had a similar performance, 9.78 in the shot put.
On the women's side, freshman
Amauche Obi-Eyisi (Anambra, Nigeria/Dority International) threw 10.49 meters in the weight throw and 7.71m in shot put, while freshman
Marriette Kalinowski (Woodside, NY/Cary) had a toss of 5.45m.
