Hawks Come Up Short to #6 Philadelphia Bible

New York, NY – Sophomore Eric Barty (Jamaica, NY/Cardozo) finished with a match high 21 kills, hitting .400 as the Hawks hung tough with #6 Philadelphia Biblical University who earn a 3-0 (30-24, 30-21, 30-28) victory on Tuesday night in non-conference men's volleyball action at the Hunter Sportsplex.

PBU junior outside hitter Justin Brubaker, who lead the nation in kills per set, led his team with 18 kills, while senior outside hitter Leonardo Dueck had 12 kills and seven digs.

Junior outside hitter Christopher Newcomb (Waimea, Kauai, HI/Waimea) and freshman middle blocker Braien Otsla (Brooklyn, NY/New Utrecht) each added seven kills for the Hawks along with three total blocks. Senior setter Zacarias Ripoll-Cid (Puerto Plata, D.R./John F. Kennedy) tallied 35 assists, six digs and three kills in his 2010 debut.

Hunter (8-6, 6-0 CUNYAC) will be back in action on Thursday when they host the Bulldogs of Brooklyn College (1-5, 1-4 CUNYAC) for a 6:00 p.m. match at the Sportsplex.
