Wrestling Earns Split with Wilkes and Scranton at Tri-Match

NEW YORK, NY - The Hunter College wrestling team welcomed Wilkes University and the University of Scranton to the Sportsplex this afternoon and finished 1-1 when the day was done.

Hunter dropped its first meet against ranked Wilkes University in a 27-6 decision. The Hawks picked up its victories with the two heaviest weights in Musa De'Reese and Leon Bodden. De'Reese, wrestling at 197, won by three in a tough 3-2 decision while Bodden earned his victory by a pin.

In its second match, Hunter shut out the University of Scranton in a 52-0 decision. Hunter picked up seven pins in its 10 wins, with Kenneth Albert at 125, Ariel Guerrero at 133, Sean Messina at 141, Matt Cartusciello at 157, Luke Pragdatt at 174, Jordan Donahue at 184, and Leon Bodden at heavyweight.

Hunter returns to action this Saturday, January 14 when they travel to the Ursinus College Invitational.
