Day Two Results

BRONX, NY - The Hunter College women's swim team remained steady in second place following day two of the CUNYAC Championships at the Apex Center on Friday evening.

The Hawks took second and fourth place in the 200 yard medley relay to open the event. The second place team consisting of Marian Wu, Sara Pazmino, Courtney McEvoy Lee and Tiffany Magno finished in 2:05.99 while Juliette Collazo, Wynette Almeida, Ivanna Tellez and Gloria Reyna took fourth in 2:13.47.

Freshman standout Chryzl Goco paced the Hawks in the 400 yard individual medley, claiming second place in a time of 5:33.58 while McEvoy Lee finished fifth in 5:41.55, just edging out Tellez who was sixth with a 5:45.10 timestamp.

In the 100 yard butterfly McEvoy Lee led the team with a fourth place finish in 1:10.50 while Reyna took sixth in 1:16.64.

The 200 yard freestyle saw Jennifer Dzurita landed in third place at 2:08.26 ahead of teammate Briana DiGiore who took fourth in 2:15.94.

Hunter finished 2-3 in the 100 yard breastbroke as Pazmino claimed second place in 1:16.59 and Charlotte Collazo took third in 1:19.29.

The finial individual event of the night--the 100 yard backstroke, saw the Hawks claim three out of the top five slots as Wu paced the team in second with a time of 1:08.48. Goco and Magno would take third and fourth with respective times of 1:09.41 and 1:12.69.

Finally, in the 800 yard freestyle relay Hunter's relay squads took second and third place. In second, Goco, DiGiore, Charlotte Collazo and Dzurita finished in 9:03.70 while Pazmino, Juliette Collazo, Tellez and Magno took third in 9:25.49.

Hunter wraps up action at the 2012 CUNYAC Championships, tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 4th at 9am.
