Flushing, N.Y - The women's tennis team defeated the Beavers of CCNY in the quarter-finals of the CUNYAC/HSS Championship 5-0, on Sunday, October 21st.  The Hawks will go on to play top seed Dolphins of CSI on Tuesday in the semi-final round.

Hunter swept all three doubles, with Shena Joseph and Stephanie Ahwireng taking down Andriana Aivazians and Roneke Brown 8-2 in the first spot.  Angelina Usherenko and Sara Beck defeated Muriel Dervich and Maigon Nobbs 8-2 in the second position while Janani Bavandan and Abigail Rojas defeating Diana Yusim and Ojo Oluwatobi 8-6 at third doubles.

Beck and Bavanandan sealed the victory for the Hawks, winning their fourth and sixth singles match, respectively.

"Our ladies played a great spirited match against CCNY. We played strong in the doubles winning all three and we took that momentum and confidence into singles," says head coach Erienne Gale.
