New York, NY - Hunter College women's cross country captured its third-straight CUNYAC Championship on Sunday at Van Cordlandt Park, earning its 14th overall championship for the most in conference history.
The Purple and Gold dominated the field by beating out second-place John Jay College by 22 points.
The Hawks placed seven runners in the top 30 finishers as freshman
Robin Marshall led the way with a second-place overall finish and a time of 25:57.9.
Vera Pertsovskaya was not far behind, taking third-place with a time of 26:22.0 and
Bianca Rey placed fourth with a time of 27:05.3.
"We put in a lot of mileage each week and teamwork is a big part of it, we stick together at the beginning of races and pushing each other is a big aspect of that," said Marshall.
Kristy Carlin (29:04.5) posted a 13th-place finish and was followed by
Zoe Colasacco (29.30.0) and
Yvonne Chow (29:52.7) in 15th and 18th-place.
Valentina Bedoya rounded out Hunter's top 30 finishers with a time of 31:32.0.
