Schirmer led the Hawks in their Homecoming match against Army (December 4) by winning all three of her bouts in the Hawks 14-13 victory. Then at the 2009 National Intercollegiate Women’s Fencing Association (NIWFA) Christmas Tournament held at the Cobra Fencing Club in Jersey City, NJ (December 6) she finished in ninth overall in saber. Her finish was the highest for the Hawks. The team will now be off until January 17 when they will take part in the Army Invitational at West Point.
