Athletic Performance

Athletic Training
Athletic Training is an essential part of our Athletics Performance team. Athletic trainers provide injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and health care services to help student-athletes safely participate and perform at their best.
Our Athletic Trainers oversee the Athletics Performance Team and work closely with coaches, strength and conditioning, medical providers, and student-athletes to support their health and performance.
Athletic Trainers: Ashley Morrison & Yvonnie Joseph
Office: WB 218
General Hours: 8:00 AM–8:00 PM
Hours may vary based on practice schedules, competitions, and team needs.
Rehabilitation & Treatment
  • Rehabilitation sessions are by appointment.
  • Teams have designated treatment windows:
    • Afternoon/Evening Practices: Treatment is available during the 1 hour prior to practice.
    • Morning Practices: Treatment is available during the 1 hour following practice.
  • Athletes should communicate with the Athletic Training staff regarding injuries, concerns, or changes in their health status.

Medical Clearance
All student-athletes must complete the required medical clearance process before participating in athletics.

    1. Complete the Purple Form to initiate the clearance process.
    2. Once the Purple Form is completed, the Athletic Training staff will send you the Hunter Medical Packet, which includes the required steps and documents for medical clearance.
    3. Email the Athletic Training staff once ALL required steps and documents have been completed. This allows us to begin reviewing your paperwork.
    4. Athletes are not medically cleared until the Athletic Training staff has completed the review and clearance process.

Sickle Cell Testing: All student-athletes are required to complete a sickle cell test, regardless of race or ethnicity.
Minors: Student-athletes under 18 must have a parent/guardian complete and sign all required paperwork.

Strength and conditioning is an important part of athletic performance, helping student-athletes build strength, speed, power, mobility, endurance, and injury resilience. Our strength and conditioning program is designed to support each sport and help athletes perform at their best.
