Branch El-Vielot averaged 12 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.5 steals to lead the Hawks in two games this week. Against Stevens (February 16) she scored had 7 points and 9 rebounds while playing 39 of a possible 40 minutes. In the 2010 CUNYAC / Con Edison Basketball Championship Tournament quarterfinal game vs. CCNY she had 17 points including the game winning free throws to give the Hawks a 57-55 victory and a spot in the semifinal round. She also had 5 steals and shot 77.8% (7-9) from the free throw line while shooting 50% (5-10) from the field. The Hawks stand at 16-10 on the year and will now play #6 seed Lehman College on February 24 at 7:30 p.m. at CCNY’s Nat Holman Gymnasium in the semifinal round of the conference tournament. Should they win they would advance to the title game and a meeting with the winner of the Baruch-CSI semifinal game at 3:00 p.m. on February 27 at CCNY’s Nat Holman Gymnasium.
