Freshman setter, Kristine Ciurcina has been named the CUNYAC/Pepsi Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week for the week of 8/26-9/1 announced by the CUNY Athletic Conference office on Tuesday, September 3.
 
In three matches this past week, Kristine Ciurcina totaled 71 assists at the NYU Invitational.  In the Staten Island native's debut, she recorded 33 assists against Ramapo along with assists on two blocks as the Hawks won 3-1. In the next two matches, the freshman had 14 assists against Simpson and 24 assists against Brockport. 
 
Ciurcina and the Hawks return to the court on Wednesday, September 4 when they travel to Teaneck, NJ for a Quad –Match against Fairleigh Dickinson and Stevens Institute of Technology.
