Chris Mazzatta enters his second season as the Head Wresting Coach at Hunter College.

Mazzatta took over the reigns of the wrestling team from former Head Coach Mike Simmon.

Mazzatta joined Hunter College as the head assistant wrestling coach in the 2010-11 season. He quickly became a vital part of the program's recent success and turnaround. He has been especially helpful in the development of consecutive NCAA National Qualifiers, Eduardo Delgado, Musa DeReese, and Jaydon Rice.  Additionally, he has brought Hunter into the top 25 national team rankings.

Mazzatta, no stranger to the wrestling world, had a successful five-year competitive career at the NCAA Division I level at Campbell University. As a four-year starter and two-year team captain, he was instrumental in the progress of a young team that captured a dual conference championship and two top-10 finishes in the national GPA rankings. With multiple seasons of double-digit wins, Chris placed in the competitive Pembroke Open and Sunshine Open tournaments, while also competing in the nationally recognized Southern Scuffle and Navy Classic tournaments. In addition to his athletic accomplishments, Chris also garnered conference all-academic honors each of his four seasons. He capped off his collegiate career with a top-three finish at the East Region national qualifier tournament.

A native of Pennsylvania, Chris accumulated over 100 career victories while breaking the all-time school wins record and becoming the school's first four-time PIAA district medalist. He was also a two-time high school folkstyle All-American wrestler.

Chris earned his Bachelor's of Business Administration and Master's of Business Administration from Campbell University, located in Buies Creek, North Carolina.
