Scott Bintner joined the Hunter women’s swimming program in 2005, first serving as an assistant coach before being named the head coach in 2007-08.
In four years at the helm, he has produced the program's sixth and seventh CUNYAC Championships, coached numerous All-Star and event champions and set many conference championship records. He was named CUNYAC Coach of the Year in 2007-078 following a stellar year.
A 2001 graduate of Missouri State, the Kansas City native competed for the Bears men’s swimming team, earning all-conference honors in 1997-98, was team captain for the 1999-00 season and was part of the Missouri Valley Conference Championship team in 2000. In addition, Bintner was an all-state swimmer all four years in high school, a four-time conference champion and was an all-state champion. He obtained a bachelor of fine arts in sculpture from Missouri State and later earned a master of fine arts in photography from the Pratt Institute in 2004.
Prior to his time at Hunter, Bintner has served as an assistant with the Missouri State Aquabears, as well as over seven years with a Summer Swimming League in Kansas City. Bintner is currently a freelance photographer and lives in Brooklyn, NY.
