Andrew Woolward began his first year as head coach of the Hunter College women’s volleyball team in 2021. An assistant coach to the team since 2015, Woolward has contributed to the Hawks’ success including a 108-53 overall record, five-straight CUNYAC Championship titles and corresponding NCAA tournament berths.

Additionally, Woolward spent the 2017 season as an assistant coach in the men’s volleyball program at Hunter College. The team finished with an impressive 28-7 record as CUNYAC Champions followed by a second round finish in the NCAA tournament.

That same year, he was inducted into the Brooklyn College Hall of Fame, where he was a four-year stand out member of the men’s volleyball team prior to returning as an assistant and then head coach of the program. Woolward guided the team to a .500 record or better in four of his six seasons with the team, and in 2017 led to Bulldogs to the program’s best finish, going 15-9 and earning an Eastern College Athletic Conference Championship bid.

Off the court, Woolward is an occupational therapist, where over the course of nine years he has practiced in a variety of settings such as pediatrics, outpatient orthopedics, short and long term care facilities, and in home care. He also remains an avid athlete who continues to compete in volleyball and triathlons.

Woolward graduated from Brooklyn College in 2002 with a B.S. in Physical Education, followed by Long Island University in 2005 where he earned a combined B.S. and M.S. in Occupational Therapy.
