Box Score

Jamaica, NY – Despite forcing extra periods on a goal by sophomore midfielder German Dominguez (Corona, NY/Long Island City) late in the second half, the Hawks came up short to the Beavers of the City College of New York Wednesday evening, falling 2-1 in two overtime periods of CUNY Athletic Conference men's soccer action at the Metropolitan Oval in Jamaica, NY.

After a scoreless first half, freshman midfielder Byron Alvarez (Brooklyn, NY/Fort Hamilton) got the Beavers on the scoreboard, putting a pass from freshman midfielder Sebastian Ramirez (Brooklyn, NY/Midwood) into the net. Then after Dominguez tied things up late in the half, scoring on a pass from sophomore defender Andreas Kalpaxis (Glendale, NY/Townsend Harris), Alvarez and Ramirez would connect again, scoring the golden goal in the early moments of the second overtime period.

Freshman keeper Taiwo Alabi (Queens, NY/Nigeria) made eight saves and allowed one goal to pick up the victory in net for the Beavers, while junior Noah Fessler (Metuchen, NJ/Metuchen) stopped six shots in net for the Hawks.

As the 2007 season quickly winds down, the Hawks have just two regular season games remaining, a home contest against John Jay College on Wednesday, October 17 and then they close out the regular season on Monday, October 22 against Mount Saint Mary College for a home contest to be played at Randalls Island.
