New York, NY – Sophomore outside hitter
Lauren Auerbach (Tucson, AZ/Salpointe Catholic) had a game high 11 kills as the top seeded Hawks downed the #8 Brooklyn College 3-0 (30-13, 30-8, 30-17) on Tuesday evening to advance to the semifinals of the 2007 CUNYAC Women's Volleyball Championship Tournament.
Senior middle blocker
Shanita Scott (Pelham, NY/Pelham Memorial) had added nine kills, six digs and four aces while the versatile outside hitter/setter
Amanda Kamm (Dix Hills, NY/Hills West) finished with 20 assists and seven kills.
Sophomore middle hitter
Leidy Guzman (Brooklyn, NY/Humanities) had a team high eight digs and was one of three tied with a team high two kills for the Bridges who were held to just seven kills in the three game match.
The Hawks will face the #4 seeded Staten Island who defeated #5 Lehman 3-0 in one of four quarterfinal matches on Tuesday. The semifinals will be played on Thursday, November 1 at this year's host site, Baruch College. In their last meeting on October 8, the Hawks defeated Staten Island 3-0 (30-7, 30-22. 30-14).
