New York, NY – Sophomore Andre DeCristo (Queens, NY/Long Island City), who is currently ranked as the top 174 pounder in the Metropolitan Conference, pinned NYU's Naum Shuminov (Houston, TX/Taylor) in 1:20, but the fall wouldn't be enough to push the Hawks over NYU as the Violets earn a 33-9 victory on Friday afternoon at the Hunter Sportsplex in New York, NY.

Junior Billy Calvecca (Levittown, NY/MacArthur) picked up a 4-3 decision at 165 pounds, his first dual victory of the season. Despite the score, the Hawks did not give up a pin as DeCristo's fall was the only on the day. However, NYU posted three major decisions and also had two victories in overtime.

Hunter returns to action on Sunday, when they host Centenary College and Yeshiva University with a start time schedule for Noon.
