Daniels Leads Hawks With 11 Kills In Win Over Rutgers-Newark

New York, NY – Senior middle blocker Yasmine Daniels (Brooklyn, NY/Midwood) led the Hawks with 11 kills and a .733 hitting percentage to give the Hawks a 3-0 (30-16, 30-10, 30-12) win over the Scarlet Raiders of Rutgers-Newark in women's volleyball action Saturday afternoon at the Hunter Sportsplex in New York, NY.

Junior outside hitter/setter Amanda Kamm (Dix Hills, NY/Hills West) continues to show her versatility with between hitting and setting, finishing with eight kills (.615) and ten assists. Senior outside hitter Shanita Scott (Pelham, NY/{Pelham Memorial) added seven kills with a .778 hitting percentage and junior setter Melissa Hernandez (Ridgewood, NY/Aviation) tallied 15 assists.

Sophomore outside hitter Sagan Caldwell (Ramona, CA/Ramona) led the Scarlet Raiders with nine kills and seven digs, while freshman libero Jen Ompod (Clifton, NJ/Clifton) recorded a game high 15 digs.

The biggest challenge of the Hawks season will come on Tuesday, when they square-off against conference rival CCNY for sole possession of first place in the CUNYAC. Tuesday's match is set for a 6:00 p.m. start at the Nat Holman Gymnasium in New York, NY
