Hawks Soar Past Bearcats, 8-1

Queens, NY – The Hunter College women's tennis team (6-0, 4-0 CUNYAC) soared past Baruch College (2-3, 2-1 CUNYAC) 8-1 in a CUNY Athletic Conference women's tennis match on Tuesday evening. The Hawks won their 43rd consecutive conference match since 2000.

Sophomore Evgeniya Kim (Flushing, NY/Cardozo) added to her season record with a 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles over Baruch sophomore Shalanda Graham (Staten Island, NY/Curtis) and then team up with freshman Elizabeth Feldman (Brooklyn, NY/Midwood) for first doubles, earning an 8-0 win the duo's fourth win of the season. Kim is now 4-0 on the season in singles and 4-0 in doubles alongside Feldman. Feldman won her fourth consecutive match at second singles and is now 5-0 on the year.
Senior Antigone Tzakis (Queens, NY/Saint /John's Prep) picked up her fifth win of the year and improves to 4-0 in CUNYAC matches this season. Senior Sarah El-Edlibi (Queens, NY/Brooklyn Tech) remained unbeaten with her fourth win of the year and sophomore Louise Hollander (East Hampton, NY/East Hampton) won her second match this season.

The Hawks return to action on Wednesday, September 26 when they head to Danbury, CT to face the Colonials of Western Connecticut State University for a 4:00 p.m. match.
