Throggs Neck, NY – Hunter allowed just one goal in the first half of a men's soccer match Monday night, but would give up three more in the second dropping their second straight game to the Privateers of Maritime College, 4-0, in non-conference action at Reinhart Field in Throggs Neck, NY.

The Privateers were led by freshman forward Patrick Masango who scored two goals, both in the second half. The game-winner was an unassisted goal by senior forward Mayer Nelson (Poughkeepsie, NY/Arlington) at 38:40 total time.

Senior goalkeeper Matt Kavanaugh (Penfield, NY/Penfield) made five saves 85 minutes of action to earn his first shutout of the season. Freshman Andrew Knight (Springfield Gardens, NY/Jamaica) made four saves and gave up four goals in his collegiate debut, starting in place of the injured Noah Fessler.

Hunter returns to action on Friday, September 7 when they travel to Pomona, NJ for the Stockton Seashore Classic where they will face William Patterson on Friday at 6:00 p.m. and Richard Stockton at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
